A Note from Danielle for October ’14

Dear Friends,
October has one of my favorite holidays: Halloween!
Although my children are grown up now, most of them in their 20s, I still remember all the crazy costumes we put together: Ursula from The Little Mermaid and all the Disney characters. The costume my daughter’s boyfriend made to look like her dog (complete with plastic fleas!!). Another daughter dressed as a pumpkin, with her face painted orange (the color didn’t come off for three weeks!!). We’ve had A LOT of fun on Halloween, and we still enjoy the candy we hand out and what’s left!!
This month, I have a very special book coming out in hardcover, Pegasus. The story begins in World War II and continues into the present, about two families and how the war affects them. One family immigrates to the U.S. and the other remains in Europe, in England and Germany. It’s about the remarkable Lipizzaner horses that do extraordinary feats, and one horse in particular. And circus life with the Barnum & Bailey Circus. It is such a rich, full book, and one of my favorites!! I hope you love it as much as I do!
Love,
Danielle
