A Letter from Danielle for September ’24
Hi Everyone,
Here comes the busiest month of the year, other than the Christmas holidays. For anyone with kids—from Nursery School to Pre-K, high school, and even college—September is a month chock-full of school schedules, organizing carpools, after-school activities, football practices, and dorm assignments, not to mention getting uniforms and new shoes!!! With nine children, September was always hands down my busiest month of the year, my head was spinning with everyone’s school schedules, new pencils, lunch boxes, teachers they loved or hated, and signing up for team sports. And classes start earlier than they used to, and tryouts and practices for sports begin in August. Most schools go back even before Labor Day now. So we try not to burden you with new books while you are getting your kids back to school.
And even for people with no children, or grown children, there is an undeniable energy to September, which is exciting. After being barefoot at the beach all summer, in a hammock in the country, pursuing long-planned travel, or even just staying home for a week to relax, suddenly— in September—it is the feeling of back to school for all of us, as we start new projects or plan to finish old ones after (hopefully) a little time off. I love the energy in September, and I start working on a new book as soon as September begins. I am working on two new ones now, making notes and polishing the outlines before I start.
And on October 1, I have a brand-new book coming out in hardcover, Triangle, which, as the title suggests, is about a woman and two very different men, and threatened danger from an unknown source—which adds mystery and excitement to the story.
I hope your September will be fun and busy, and that you’ll have exciting new projects to turn your attention to. And I hope you’ll have time to read Triangle as soon as it comes out!!! And by October 1, hopefully you’ll be ready to take a little break after everything you managed to do in September!!! Have a fun and productive month of September!!!
Love,
Danielle
