A Letter from Danielle for January ‘20
Hi Everyone,
Welcome to a New Year!!! 2020—it has a nice ring to it!!! And I hope it will be a great year for you and for us all.
Traditionally, due to bad weather almost everywhere, January is a month for hibernation, for quiet time, to curl up with a cup of hot chocolate and a good book. Speaking of which—I am really excited about my new books coming out this year. Moral Compass will be out on January 7th and is a serious book that I put a great deal of heart and thought into. It’s about a cataclysmic, catastrophic event at an elite boarding school, and the many, many people affected by one single disastrous event: The victim and the perpetrator, their friends, their parents, the head of the school, the teachers, the police, the press, and a conscientious judge who tries to mete out justice without adding to the damage already done. It shows how one single event can affect so many people, and cause deep thought to sort out the deeper meaning of such events, and how a single event can affect young people’s futures forever. It’s an event we read about in the newspapers every day. I hope the book has as much meaning for you as it did for me, dealing with a serious subject and illustrating it in a poignant, responsible way, that will touch you profoundly.
And at the end of the month, my book Blessing in Disguise will come out in paperback. It’s about a mother and her three VERY different adult daughters, each with a different father, and very different people, and how they each relate to their mother as adults. I hope you enjoy that book too!!!
So—happy reading!—and I hope you have time to curl up and stay warm, and enjoy reading the new books.
And I hope that this will be the beginning of a wonderful year for you, full of blessings and good times. Happy New Year!!! The Best is Yet to Come!!!
Love,
Danielle
