A Letter from Danielle for October ’25
Hi Everyone,
I love October!! Crisp sunny days, the beginning of cooler weather. It energizes most people, and it is the beginning of my heavy writing season all the way until the end of the year. I’m working on new books for you!!
I have two books I’d love to share with you this month. The Portrait is out in hardcover. I love this book, because the relationship between a portrait artist and their subject is fascinating—a strong bond. As they discover each other, their observations translate onto the canvas, as seen through each others’ eyes. I hope you love the book more and more as the story unfolds and the relationship between subject and artist gets ever stronger.
And at the end of the month Never Say Never will come out in paperback. It’s an interesting book, about how the component parts of our life can fall apart all at once. It’s odd how that happens sometimes. An unexpected bill that puts a sinkhole in your budget, a sick pet, trouble at work, being disappointed by a loved one or a friend, car trouble, a chipped tooth at an inopportune moment. Big and small things seem to collide when that happens. It can leave you feeling beaten by life, for the moment anyway.
In the book, the heroine’s husband deals her a shocking emotional blow, and she goes on a long-planned holiday in France alone after that. Her adult children living in other cities don’t offer much comfort. And the Fates continue to frown on her when she loses the job she loves as well. Her life is crumbling around her.
She refuses to be defeated, and fights nobly to adjust to changes and losses. Life is really about what you do in the hard times, what you make of them, and what they make of you. The book is about building a new life when familiarity and marks crumble. And it can be a better life in the end than the one you had previously. The book is about facing the challenge of unexpected changes. I hope you get the time for some reading this fall and I hope you love the new books!!!
Love,
Danielle
