A Letter from Danielle for February ’25
Hi Everyone,
February is still heavy winter in most places, although—here and there—there might be a hint of spring, but it’s really too early for spring weather. I still hibernate in February, working on new books. With freezing weather blasting outside, I stay cozily at home and write, until the first solid signs of spring. Harsh weather is a great excuse to stay indoors and read!!! If you haven’t had time in the aftermath of the holidays, I hope you’ll catch up and read my newest hardcover Never Say Never. It’s about what can happen when everything falls apart in your life, relationship, job, even geography, and you have to start again. Sometimes wonderful things can happen when you have to start over again. And sometimes the people you least expect to have in your life can play an important role in new beginnings.
At the end of January, Only the Brave came out in paperback, it’s one of my favorite books and if you haven’t read it yet, I hope you will, while still “hibernating”, tucked in cozily next to the fire on a cold day with rugged weather. Only The Brave is about a young woman in wartime (Second World War) Germany, who is separated from her sister and loses her parents, her lifestyle, and her home to the Nazis. Her father is a famous physician with his own hospital and is sent to a concentration camp as a dissident. She joins a convent of protestant nuns, and her mission is to work for the Resistance, against the Nazis, and save as many Jewish children as she can. She’s an incredibly brave young woman, saves many children, and must face some challenging decisions about her own life when the war ends. I hope you love this book as much as I do.
The major date for many in February is Valentine’s Day. I’ve had two proposals in February that resulted in long marriages, one for 18 years and one for eight years. Both with very special people.
Valentine’s Day can be fraught with hope, and surprises, and sometimes disappointment. I hope your Valentine’s Day is a happy surprise this year, and all your dreams come true!!!
Love,
Danielle
