A Note from Danielle for August ’11

Dear friends,

One of the things I love about August are the falling stars in the sky. The month is always kind of a mixed blessing—it’s still summer, but we start to think about fall, and before we know it, summer is over. I have always tried to take the summer off from writing, so that I can spend time with my children, but by August, I’m thinking about work again, and the kids are getting ready to go back to school. The summer always whizzes by.

And even though I’m not in school, I still feel as though a new year begins in September, with new clothes, new school supplies, new projects, new things to do—and new books to write. I hope you’re having a great summer and that you’ve done everything you wanted to do, and have had some time to relax. And don’t forget to wish on falling stars! May all your wishes come true, now and always.

Thanks to all of you for making my latest novel, Happy Birthday, a New York Times bestseller!

Love,

Danielle Steel
