A Note from Danielle for January ’15

Dear Friends,
January is always a nice quiet month (I hope!!) when everyone gets to recuperate from the holidays, tuck in at home and stay cozy in bad weather pretty much everywhere, and get ready for the new year. I never make New Year’s resolutions, as I’ve told you before, because I never stick to them, and hate to disappoint myself!!
Two years ago, in January, with an injured foot (I fell over a suitcase on Christmas morning and the suitcase won. I think I broke a toe), and nearly daily snowfall in Paris (gorgeous, but nicer to watch from my windows at home than mushing through it), I opened one of my Christmas gifts from a friend, which was two seasons of Downton Abbey, the TV series. I became instantly addicted, and spent the whole month watching it on TV, and had a ball. A friend staying with me came into my room after many hours to see if I was still alive, since I hadn’t emerged. That was the most fun January I’ve ever had.
If you have some time to hibernate in cold weather and catch up on your reading, my book Power Play comes out in paperback this month. I love that book and hope you will too!!
Love,
Danielle
